DTM has created its own preheater cyclone and riser duct by simulating hundreds of different variations and has achieved a unique design which satisfies the customer demands such as low pressure drop across stages and low capital investment cost with high separation efficiency. This modern design focuses on the top part of the cyclone, “Snail Part” for separation efficiency & pressure drop and conical part especially for lower stage cyclone to avoid build-ups.
DTM’s tailor-made cyclones can be adjusted according not only to the capacity requirement of the preheater tower, but also to the availability of the area inside preheater tower building. An optimized cyclone modification can result in higher kiln capacity, lower calorific consumption and lower ID fan power consumption, while the riser duct design allows high efficiency heat transfer by uniform distribution of the material into the gas and enough retention time while maintaining low pressure drop with optimized geometry. In addition, modifying snail part of a cyclone can decrease the pressure drop up to 40% and increase the separation efficiency up to 15%. (the values can be even higher for severe operating conditions).
